The rescue is a success, the team has returned safely and the demon threat seems to have subsided. Unfortunately, they forgot about real life, and the school that has descended into anarchy. Molly suddenly finds herself out of power, and unable to control her school, her unit or her sister’s developing feelings for Troy. Troy, meanwhile, doesn’t question his decision in the dungeon… until Molly finds out, threatening to tear the entire unit apart. On top of all this, the Hokoni learn of Kendrick’s fate and Donovan figures squarely into their search for vengeance! Volume 6 of Magical Security Taskforce, The Melancholy of Molly Pearson begins!
Kathryn and Donovan are in the courtyard against Sho, Molly and Yuki are staring down a Hageshoni legion of terror and Troy’s effort to save Renee is about to be derailed. In the closing moments of MST Volume 5, the act that changes everything. It’s chapter 44: “Decisive Blows.”
Late at night, the three united teams set out to defy the MST and set out on the great rescue. Even during the planning stages, they nearly kill each other. Still, the invasion begins, the Urayoni respond and we finally get to see what Reggie can do! Just not what’s actually in his room though. That’s still a mystery. It’s MST chapter 42: “The Welcoming Party.”
As the exile at Central Academy continues, Reggie and his girls manage to cheer up Troy, Kathryn and… well maybe not Donovan so much. However, when they all get wind of the agreement between the MST and the Urayoni, sitting around and partying is no longer an option. And why is Marie suddenly acting friendlier to Renee? It’s MST chapter 41: “Unholy Operation.”
Magical Security Taskforce reaches its official halfway point! In chapter 40, “Allies,” Troy, Kathryn and Donovan are escorted to Central Academy, where they face a flummoxed staff, their gruesome experiences, and the unusual off-season dorm residents. When the MST negotiates with the Urayoni for the captives, everybody is left with a difficult proposition.
Yuki and Renee are already in enemy hands; can Molly, Donovan and Troy escape? All three face their own tests, surprises and losses as they try to escape L. B. Gould High school and the Hageshoni’s grasp. The ordeal comes to some shocking conclusions in chapter 39 of MST, “Demon Blood.”
The Hageshoni are here, and all the kids can do is run and hide. Thankfully, the student council has equipped the high school with a network of secret passages… but why do the demons have access to them? Who will survive Chapter 38, “Battle at L. B. Gould?”
While most of the group has trouble getting past what happened, the rest of the world is still ticking. In chapter 37, “Change of Plans,” the Hageshoni are on the lam, Marie’s lack of information leads to paranoia and Kendrick makes a last ditch plea to Donovan.
